The Obama Administration’s plans to overhaul health care might be hitting a few snags. One of the biggest things going for the proposal was the wide range of supporters it had. Had, not has, apparently. Hospital organizations and the powerful AARP are both growing skeptical as reform begins to take shape in Congress.
There is also fear that moderate Congressional Democrats will bolt from the plan once a final price is determined. The national deficit reached over $1 trillion for the year today, which is likely to make even more moderates hesitant. Although the stream of defectors isn’t huge yet, things like this have a tendency to snowball. It definitely warrants watching.
